Everyday Life seems to speed up with the end of the school year and the approach of the big Summer Trip. Every year our family tries its best to take one big family trip to wherever, the only thing that matters is that we are all together, enjoying each others time and having fun. When I was a kid it was always an exciting time and we usually went in early to mid-June. Now that I have my own family, consisting of my Husband, me, my 10 month old son and our precious dog we are trying to do the same. Though the dog will be staying at home with a wonderful house-sitter. Not to mention the fact that my parents and my in-laws are all coming with us. This will be fun...I keep repeating this hoping a little osmosis will go a long way :).

Meanwhile it has fallen into my hands to organize everything and everyone to get us out the door by 7 am on this Friday. Can we say fun?! Yeah, so we are just getting this sorted out today and planning the road trip. I have the itineraries coming together for our parents, the cars are cleaned and mostly washed. The suitcases are empty and the house is a wreck. So without further ado, off I go to do some laundry and clean the house! lol Life is good!

My third Great Grandfather, Strother West Roberts, was born on November 1, 1842, in Blaine, Kentucky, the heart of Eastern Kentucky, to John C. and Esther (Abbott) Roberts.               The Postbellum American Economy was an irregular period of growth and change, both in the workforce and industry. The experience of American women in the workforce has always been diverse, generally drawing a stringent line between single women and their married counterparts.             The Great Depression is one of the most challenging periods in American economic history and had national and international influences and origins. In the years following the Great War (WWI) and into the 1920s, the “U.S. economy boomed.” [1] However, tranquility was not on the cards for long as the government interceded in 1928 when the U.S. Federal Reserve “raised interest rates” to “combat inflation.” [2] The timing could not have been worse; Europe was still in a period of rebuilding and establishing new governments for many countries. Ultimately, the burden of the tremendous amount of resources and money loaned by the U.S. to Europe became too much, and many countries began to default on those loans.
