What does one say on their birthday? Thank you, God! I have acknowledge the fact that I lead a very blessed life, and I can only attribute that to God. I have always known God was real my entire life; I have spoken with him nearly every day since I started High School and more so now as a mother and wife. I am not a wonderful person. When I do nice things it is usually something I offer to do without thinking and realize I cannot back out, but those are usually the things I am most proud of doing and thankful that I have done them. Most notable: Our Adoption.

As a child Twenty-nine seemed so old, but as I sit here now looking back at my life I realize it is just the number of times I have made it around the Sun, my life measures far greater in that of accomplishments, relationships, and memories. After all I do plan on living to one hundred, Lord willing, and so this is not even a half way mark. I have learned a lot, and I try to do better. My emotions and negativity often get the best of me, but I think as long as I strive to do better then I will be a better person.

Subjectivity is possibly my greatest struggle and best teacher. I want to understand the world, people, and places. One thing that I learned early was that Love can transcend all situations (except politics apparently) all struggles, cultures and races. Martin Luther King Jr. once said:

My third Great Grandfather, Strother West Roberts, was born on November 1, 1842, in Blaine, Kentucky, the heart of Eastern Kentucky, to John C. and Esther (Abbott) Roberts.               The Postbellum American Economy was an irregular period of growth and change, both in the workforce and industry. The experience of American women in the workforce has always been diverse, generally drawing a stringent line between single women and their married counterparts.             The Great Depression is one of the most challenging periods in American economic history and had national and international influences and origins. In the years following the Great War (WWI) and into the 1920s, the “U.S. economy boomed.” [1] However, tranquility was not on the cards for long as the government interceded in 1928 when the U.S. Federal Reserve “raised interest rates” to “combat inflation.” [2] The timing could not have been worse; Europe was still in a period of rebuilding and establishing new governments for many countries. Ultimately, the burden of the tremendous amount of resources and money loaned by the U.S. to Europe became too much, and many countries began to default on those loans.
