#RNC Trumps Scapegoat Politics Continues

Why is Trump doing so well with the right wing party of our government? Because he is selling terror, fear, and unfortunately playing into the prevalent prejudices and ideologies that the right wing is known for, but that does not mean he has to be their voice. When Trump appeal's to many Americans by saying what they are already worried about in their lives without giving a clue as to how to fix the problems they have. You take lower middle to poor income citizens, and you intimidate them with a picture of grim times ahead, you sell a promising future that you alone can fix, you corroborate their fears, empathize and find common ground in those fears and before you know it they begin to trust you. Trump is playing a great game, but it is one we should fear, and certainly one we should hesitate run from. Why? Because Trump is a business man, he is the ultimate cars salesman that will do and say anything to get you to vote for him.

Just as a frog will jump out of a hot pot of water, people can usually see the tyrant coming. But if you slowly add fuel to the fire and heat the water gradually the frog will slowly be cooked to death. Trump has been slowly getting worse over time, and his most recent performances have me terrified. On Thursday night at the close of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio Trump's message was extended, and the horror of the left was a jaw-dropping silence. Trump said in his final speech at the convention in Cleveland, "Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it. My message is that things have to change -- and they have to change right now." He spat about the failures of government and the people running our country, how bleak our future is and how he alone can lead us out of this dire situation, but he did not elude or state how he would fix it.

To me, this is a critical juncture in our nation's political and governmental history. Not only has Mr. Trump demonstrated his indecisiveness, incomprehension of our constitution, incoherence in rhetoric, and incompetence, but beyond that, Mr. Trump just does not recognize how far we have come since our last Republican President. President George W. Bush led our country into further debt, a recession, and two wars. President Obama has taken the Unemployment below 6%, has seen government works projects to stimulate local economies, driven home some of the greatest economic returns following the recession, and passed some of the most important legislation that has been adopted in fifty years. Including the Marriage Equality Act, Obamacare, led the race to stop climate change, while working with a hostile Congress President Obama passed the Nuclear deal with Iran and restored communications with Cuba. President Obama, like many of his successors, Republican and Democrat, has defined what real Presidential leadership means, it means action, accomplishments, and perhaps most important the necessity of an agenda to rally the country.

And still, Trump insinuates just how bad America is doing. I realize we could do better; there is always room for improvements, but I think America is great already. I believe we have a lot going for it. A lot of our race divisions have bubbled to the surface, but I think this is a period in our history when the right is on the side of the majority. Times are changing, and we better be ready for it. Mr. Trump speaks only about horror without any resolve. He is not a leader, he is a spokesman, he has no clue what the constitution offers, and he is not a winner when the going gets tough he welches out (e.g. bankruptcy, Trump University, multiple divorces, etc.).  What we need someone who dives into trouble waters, uses her brain before her mouth and leads with a sense of purpose, not scapegoat rhetoric. We need someone to lead us, but also someone who will lay out their plans and now childishly keep their plans to themselves.

You say I can't vote for Hillary because she is a crook? Tell me what has she done wrong? I am sorry, but precedence is on her side with the whole email server case. Past Republican Secretaries of State also used private email servers. After thousands of tax dollars have been poured into the investigation there have been no indictments, not further legal action. If you do not trust our system then why are you even bothering to vote? If you think she caused the Tragedy of Benghazi, I'm sorry again she took the blame and resigned, but nothing she did as Madam Secretary was illegal or unlawful. The provisions for widening the security details was denied by the security council of the Congress, the ball was indeed dropped, but after grilling Secretary Clinton for 11 hours. These investigations did not occur because it seemed that she did something wrong. The purpose of those investigations was gone through merely because the Republican's did not like what former investigators found.

As a citizen of the United States, we have the obligation to get down to his truth, to not trust the media, to learn that as a democracy there are still going to fault, but that if we all work together towards a common goal, we will succeed. Our constitution is one of the most well thought out and deeply detailed documents the world has ever known. Do your duty, learn what you can, draw your opinions and vote your conscience.
