#RNC Trumps Scapegoat Politics Continues

Why is Trump doing so well with the right wing party of our government? Because he is selling terror, fear, and unfortunately playing into the prevalent prejudices and ideologies that the right wing is known for, but that does not mean he has to be their voice. When Trump appeal's to many Americans by saying what they are already worried about in their lives without giving a clue as to how to fix the problems they have. You take lower middle to poor income citizens, and you intimidate them with a picture of grim times ahead, you sell a promising future that you alone can fix, you corroborate their fears, empathize and find common ground in those fears and before you know it they begin to trust you. Trump is playing a great game, but it is one we should fear, and certainly one we should hesitate run from. Why? Because Trump is a business man, he is the ultimate cars salesman that will do and say anything to get you to vote for him.     Just as a frog will jump out of a hot pot

Striving to be a Member of #OneRacetheHumanRace

The issue of race has always been a hot button in our country. Since the early days of the colonies, the races were separated by social and economic barriers. The Slave Trade of Africans that truly built our nation established it as a working nation also ensured the divisions between the races while securing its economy. Money drives industry, success, and it certainly turned thousands of ships across the seas filled with human cargo to our land for the only reason of filling White pockets. We must not shy away from these facts; we must not pretend it did not happen and that as a culture Black Americans are still by extension are impacted by this mass "exploitation" of their race base solely on the pigmentation of the ancestry. [1] Unlike most places, America seems to shy away from change. We like our Bible stomping preachers, praying politicians, and the White man on top, it is comfortable to many of our fellow citizens. Despite the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's

Children Should be Treasured

You know as a mother there are certain expectations one is driven towards to succeed. When you first realize you are about to become a Mother, through birth, adoption, or marriage, you understand the enormity of this duty. I read as many blogs, books, parenting tips that I could find, I spoke to other new Mom's, my Mom and still the challenge seemed quite daunting; and then I met my boy. The moment I laid my eyes on him, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could do this and that I loved him more than I ever thought I was capable of. As your children grow you are forced into entrusting others with this enormous task of helping you to raise them by extension, first you let your partner spread their wings, and slowly you accept close family or friends, perhaps even a babysitter. Then the plunge through into daycare, school, Sunday school and even vacation bible school. You are again forced to entrust the safety and security of your child to another. Most of the time your child

Every Vote Matters

While I am sad that Bernie's campaign is all but over, I need others to realize that we still have a fight left to pursue. That fight is for the White House, this struggle is for the dignity of that office, and this battle is against a racist bigot that refuses reason and spouts sarcasm with as much tact as a second grader. Donald Trump is the epitome of bad choices for the Presidency of the United States. People that are for Trump say, "Oh he's just telling it how it is." These are the same people that think Political Correctness is an overreactive appeasement, when in reality being politically correct is perhaps the most civilized method of tact. Being respectful of others is not the law of our land, but morally it is the right thing to do. Making others uncomfortable because you do not understand their foundation as a person, who they are, is rude and uncivilized. Making people the butt of your jokes to give you thirty seconds of praise and a laugh is demeaning a

#BlackLivesMatter & #AllLifesMatter

Recent events have me terrified. All life is precious. I am a mother, first and foremost. While I realize that not everyone will see eye to eye with me, that is okay, but all I ask is to set yourself aside from preconceived notions and look at other people's perspectives. Life is hard enough without racial profiling. Life is supposed to be enjoyed, lived to the full, not a series of chaotic moments followed by horror, ripping families apart. I am afraid to join the club of families without any say. I know people profiled. I live with the "white privilege" I was born with, but my story like many others is not so clear cut. Life is meaningful. Life is worth living. Life is worth taking the chance. Those in Blue need to realize that though statistics bellow, individuals deserve to right to be judged on merit, on actions, on that hope that they will rise above the notion that they can do better than the predecessors. Sill, I everyone is entitled to think what you may, judge
