My name is Amy; I am a writer, artist, photographer, mother, and widow. I enjoy spending time in libraries or little bookshops. History is my passion, and writing is my voice.

I have a little eleven-year-old boy who came to us through the blessing of adoption. Liam is rambunctious and hilarious, kind and compassionate. He loves to play sports and always tries to do as he is told. He's a really good kid and we are continuously blessed to be his parents.

My smart, loving, and passionately kind husband of fourteen years recently passed away after a four-year battle with Leukemia. He was strong, honorable, and witty. He was the love of my life. I grew up with Keith; he was my person and rock. 

Beyond my feisty preteen parent duties, I am also a fur mom to the world's cutest Bernadoodle, Teddy. Teddy is my co-worker and fur-toddler who keeps me on my toes and busy hopping up and down throughout the week as I try to work my 9-5 job. 

Currently, I am in the midst of trying to figure everything out as one does after a tragedy of this sort. I am doing my best, working each day to be the mother Liam needs and deserves. I am working full-time again and thinking desperately of finishing my Ph.D. in History at Liberty University, but we shall see what is possible in the coming months.

My third Great Grandfather, Strother West Roberts, was born on November 1, 1842, in Blaine, Kentucky, the heart of Eastern Kentucky, to John C. and Esther (Abbott) Roberts.               The Postbellum American Economy was an irregular period of growth and change, both in the workforce and industry. The experience of American women in the workforce has always been diverse, generally drawing a stringent line between single women and their married counterparts. Keynesian Economics and the U.S. Federal Government Response to the Great Depression

            The Great Depression is one of the most challenging periods in American economic history and had national and international influences and origins. In the years following the Great War (WWI) and into the 1920s, the “U.S. economy boomed.” [1] However, tranquility was not on the cards for long as the government interceded in 1928 when the U.S. Federal Reserve “raised interest rates” to “combat inflation.” [2] The timing could not have been worse; Europe was still in a period of rebuilding and establishing new governments for many countries. Ultimately, the burden of the tremendous amount of resources and money loaned by the U.S. to Europe became too much, and many countries began to default on those loans.
